Technologies

Sekuworks excels in security and authentication technology integration. Our patented Sekuweb™ print system integrates intaglio, multiple print, and security technologies in one pass. We offer technologies developed by our engineers and a wide variety of products from our security partner companies. We work with our clients to match technology solutions with identified security threats.

The list below illustrates just some of the many security technologies products we provide.

Intaglio Printing

Intaglio print is produced using engraved plates under high pressure. Intaglio is used to print the currencies of the world. Its availability is limited and policed by the governments of the world making it the most secure overt print technology available.

Latent image

A latent image is a semi-covert printed image hidden within a pattern that appears when viewed at an extreme angle. Latent images can only be produced via intaglio print technology.

Microlines

Microlines are fine lines produced by the intaglio print process. They can be manipulated in both width and height producing very fine and unique patterns and images

Microtext

Microtext is text or word that are generally smaller than 1 pt. in letter size. The smallest printed Microtext is nominally 0.5 pt. Intaglio print is the only technology that combines small size with raised print.

Holograms (OVD)

Holograms (Optically Variable Devices) are used worldwide for authentication and decoration. Their unique 3D look and coloration is easily recognized. Their high resolution and ability to carry hidden and multiple optical imagery provides robust security.

Tamper Evident Void

TE void is a layer of release that is applied between a label or tape substrate and the adhesive layer. Once the label or tape is applied to a surface and attempt is made to remove it, the release layer separates and shows indication of tampering.

Coding

Coding can be as simple as a consecutive number or sophisticated like an invisible, encrypted 2D bar code. Code types are dependent on the who, what, where, and when of the code being used.

Anti-copy Void

Anti-copy void technology manipulates fine lines or dots usually within a printed background that is not easily detectable with the naked eye. However, when an attempt is made to photocopy of a printed product, a pattern or "void" appears in the copied version.

Taggants

Taggants are unique markers produced in a wide variety of chemical and physical formats. "DNA" is and example of a taggant. Most require a proprietary reader or must be viewed under strong magnification

Optically Variable Ink (OVI)

Optically Variable Inks are formulated to change color properties under changing light conditions. Some change in standard white light by viewing from two different angles. Others need to be lighted with UV, IR or Laser light.

Substrates

A wide variety of substrates are available for labels, seals, tapes and documents. Both paper and synthetic may be used with or without taggants, watermarks, chemical coatings, contain fibers, threads or other security technologies.

Foils

Most security foils used today have a metallic or holographic look. They may contain other security technologies like taggants. Holographic foils range from simple "rainbow" to complex security patterns with forensic components.

Invisible Inks

Invisible inks are invisible without special light sources. UV or Black Light inks are common. IR or inks containing upshifting phosphors are illuminated by Laser light.

Security Thread

Security thread is a fine strip or filament of material with security features that may be embedded to or applied to the surface of a label, tape, or document substrate.

Hidden Imaging

Sekuworks uses a proprietary software to add image layers to standard PDF files that are hidden. The hidden images are revealed using a special lens. Hidden images can be consistent or generated from the data within the image file.
